WORKSHOPS

Monday - Thursday Workshops

Beginners will build fundamental skills through a workshop conducted by several TPRS experts.

This four-day workshop includes coaching and ample opportunity to experience how it feels to be a student learning a new language through TPRS.

Experienced TPRS teachers will follow a series of workshops designed to enhance their TPRS skills. Coaching is a vital part of these workshops so that participants can practice one skill at a time.

Which workshop is right for me?

It is difficult to determine level simply by number of workshops or number of years that you have been teaching. We want you to enroll in the workshop that will give you the skills and practice that help you to achieve your professional goals. In both workshops, the attendees will experience a variety of presenters as they deepen their understanding of language acquisition and TPRS techniques.

The beginner workshop topics include the fundamentals of TPRS and practice in skills such as circling, pacing, basic reading skills, and how to check for comprehension. Coaching and experiencing being a student in a foreign language strengthen the attendees grasp of how to implement TPRS effectively in their classrooms.

As a guideline for the experienced workshops, enrollees have typically taught with TPRS for two years or more and use TPRS in their classrooms 80% or more of the time per week. In the coaching sessions that are an integral part of this advanced workshop, attendees will be expected to feel very comfortable already with circling out of order, asking 3-for-1 questions, and fishing for details among other basic skills employed on a daily basis in the TPRS classroom. With the fundamental skills already firmly in place, these attendees will expand their repertoire of TPRS skills.
